What is cupping therapy?

Cupping therapy is a traditional method of treatment in Chinese medicine, but is also used in traditional Arabic medicine.

Medical cupping glasses are applied to the body using negative pressure generated by a small pump. This achieves a strong blood flow to the muscles. This relaxes the muscles and the connective tissue surrounding the muscles, the so-called fascia, is stretched and harmful shortenings are released.

  • Muscle relaxation: Helps to relax the muscles and relieve pain.
  • Promotes blood circulation: Supports blood circulation and can help with various physical complaints.

Combination with acupuncture and moxibustion

Cupping is often used in combination with acupuncture and moxibustion to increase the effectiveness of the treatment.

Areas of application

Physical and mental illnesses: Suitable for the treatment of pain, rheumatic diseases, gastroenterological problems, endocrine disorders and psychosomatic complaints and all complaints caused by cold.
