Chinese herbal therapy
Your path to inner balance and holistic well-being
Discover the beneficial power of Chinese herbal therapy in my practice in Stuttgart – an ideal complement to acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping therapy for your health.
What is Chinese herbal therapy?
Chinese herbal therapy is an important part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and has a tradition dating back thousands of years.
It uses the power of nature to promote health and well-being and is based on the use of medicinal herbs. Many of the herbs used are spices or foods, such as cinnamon, ginger, dates or lovage. Minerals (oyster shells, for example) can also be used.
The herbal formulas I use are all based on the two classical works of the Chinese physician Zhang Zhongjing, which he wrote around 1800 years ago.
The herbal formulas are not newly invented by me, but are described either in the Shang Han Lun (Discussion of Cold Damage) or the Jingui Yaolüe (Important Prescriptions from the Golden Shrine). These are then adapted to the individual needs of the patient according to the results of the pulse diagnosis.
Chinese herbal therapy at Acupuncture Gebert
In my practice, I offer Chinese herbal therapy in combination with other TCM treatment methods to achieve the best possible results for you. Herbal therapy complements each other perfectly:
- Acupuncture: The energy flow in the body is harmonized through the targeted placement of needles at specific points.
- Moxibustion: The heat treatment with mugwort stimulates the acupuncture points and warms the body from the inside.
- Cupping therapy: This method promotes blood circulation, relieves tension and removes harmful substances.
Benefits of Chinese herbal therapy in combination with TCM:
- Holistic approach: Herbal therapy views the human being as a unity of body, mind and soul.
- Individual treatment: The herbal mixtures are put together individually for you after a detailed diagnosis and on the basis of the traditional pulse diagnosis.
- Harmonization of the energy flow (Qi): Herbal therapy supports the flow of energy in the body and helps to release blockages.
- Strengthening the body’s self-healing powers: Herbal therapy activates the body’s self-healing powers and strengthens the immune system.
- Treatment of deficiencies: Herbal therapy helps to correct deficiencies and strengthen the function of the organs.
